Academic Staff – Teaching Positions

A: Introduction

Tumaini University Dar es Salaam College (TUDARCo), which is owned by the Eastern and Coastal Diocese (ECD) of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT), is one of the constituent colleges of Tumaini University Makunnra (TUMA). The institution was granted a Certificate of Full Registration by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) on March 29th, 2007 and obtained its Charter and Certificate of Accreditation in 2010 and August 2019. TUDARCo is located along Coca Cola Road, at Mwenge Industrial Area m Dar es Salaam. At present, TUDARCo is being re-engmeered and re-branded with a view to transforming it into a competitively dynamic and vibrant university institution. To that effect, TUDARCo is seeking to strengthen human resources in teaching, research and consultancy, hence this advisement.

B: Positions being advertised

TUDARCo now wishes to recruit additional academic staff for the School of Business Studies (SoBS) and School of Law and Justice (SoLJu).

1. School of Business Studies (SoBS): –
2. i) Assistant Lecturer in Accountancy: Three (3) Positions.

Specific Qualifications:

Holders of a Master’s Degree in Finance and Accounting and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (BCOom). majoring in Accountancy, or a degree in Finance and Accounting from a University recognized by The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and with teaching experience as an Assistant Lecturer. In addition to the above qualifications, the candidate must show exceptional teaching, research, and consultancy abilities. Possession of a CPA will be an added advantage.

1. i) Assistant Lecturer in Law: Three (3) positions.

Specific Qualifications:

Holders of an LL.M PhD in Law from a higher learning institutions recognised by the TCU. The applicant must be specialized in Legal Ethics, Law of Evidence, Business Association Law, International Law, Private International Law, Legal Method, or Tax Law and related subjects. In addition to the above qualifications, the candidate must show exceptional ability in teaching and undertaken research and consultancy in law.

General Qualifications:

Aside the specific qualifications, applicant must possess a minimum GPA of 4.0 or a B+ average at Master’s degree level, and at least a GPA of 3.5 for a first degree in Law (LLB) obtained from a higher learning institution recognised by TCU. Applicants must further have ability to engage in teaching, research and consultancy sendees.

C: Remuneration

Successful candidates will be offered attractive packages commensurate with their qualifications and experience.

D: Mode of Application

(i) Interested and suitably qualified individuals should submit their application attached with relevant copies of transcripts, certificates, and a detailed curriculum vitae.

(ii) Certificates from foreign Universities must have been verified by the TCU.

(in) Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level education must have been verified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).

• Presentation of forged certificates and forged document(s) will necessitate a legal action against the applicant.
