Job Summary:
Majengo Children’s Home (MCH) is seeking a dedicated and organized librarian to manage and enhance library services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for knowledge management, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to create a welcoming and resourceful environment for library users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the library, including cataloging, organizing, and maintaining library materials.
• Assist library users in locating resources and using library services effectively.
• Develop and implement library policies and procedures.
• Manage digital and physical information resources.
• Promote reading culture and organize literacy programs or activities.
• Maintain records of library activities, including lending and inventory management.
• Stay up to date with advancements in library systems and technologies.
• Support users with research and information retrieval.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in one of the following fields (or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution):
  • Librarianship
  • Library and Information Studies
  • Library Studies
  • Library and Information Science
  • Information Studies
  • Documentation and Information Management
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Proficiency in using library management systems and digital resources.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work in a multicultural environment
