Quality Control Officer Job Vacancy at Dangote Cement Plc

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Officer to join our team at Dangote Cement. As a Quality Control Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our cement production meets the highest quality standards. You will carry out a range of tests and analyses to monitor the chemistry and physical properties of raw materials, in-process materials, and final products. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will play a key role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our cement products.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strictly follow the Standard and other Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Carry out the full chemistry of Raw Meal, Kiln Feed, Hot Meal, Clinker and Cement to determine various parameters as per the Effective Quality Control Plan and communicate the results to operators.
  • Determine the moisture and ash content of shift fine coal samples.
  • Inspect and control laboratory instruments and perform routine maintenance.
  • Prepare standard solutions for chemical analysis and calibrate lab equipment.
  • Update records and maintain inventory of lab consumables.
  • Prepare analysis reports and submit them for checking and approval.
  • Perform reference tests and monitor lab equipment performance.
  • Maintain the LERI file for all lab equipment and submit weekly reports.
  • Prepare daily reports and analyze data.
  • Communicate any quality issues to the relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree or its equivalent in Chemistry or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of three(3) years relevant experience.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry and quantitative analyses
  • Good knowledge of quality control methods and instruments
  • Good knowledge of quality audit/testing processes for cement
  • Good knowledge of the cement production process
  • Good knowledge of ISO quality management systems
  • Good chemical analysis skills
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to pay attention to details
  • Good relationship management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
