Job Vacancy: Sales Manager

Position Summary:
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth across all key revenue centres, including accommodation, F&B, tours, transfers, spa, and retail. The role involves developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets, while maintaining strong relationships with Destination Management Companies (DMCs), corporate clients, and other partners. The Sales Manager will also focus on increasing extras revenue and maximising spend per guest. A critical part of the role is managing site inspections and ensuring a high conversion rate of potential buyers to sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development & Delivery:
○ Expand the reach of the Arusha Coffee Lodge brand and establish a deep understanding of its role in the industry.
○ Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to meet and exceed revenue and occupancy goals, with a particular focus on DMCs, corporate, and government agencies.
○ Increase bed nights and overall revenue in line with budget targets.
○ Grow the achieved rate for key geographic areas based on market targets.
○ Analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
○ Identify key partners to meet commercial goals and set sales targets in collaboration with the BDM and Commercial Director.
○ Actively manage key accounts in collaboration with relevant BDMs.
○ Ensure that Arusha Coffee Lodge contributes to and benefits from the broader Elewana Collection group.
○ Respond promptly to daily requests and complaints from key markets.
○ Travel as needed to meet sales goals.
○ Support Finance in managing agent account balances.
- Relationship Management:
○ Build and maintain strong relationships with DMC partners, agents, corporate clients, event planners, and other potential partners.
○ Conduct client visits and presentations to promote Arusha Coffee Lodge’s facilities and services.
○ Cooperate with head office and international representatives to achieve sales targets.
○ Deliver high-quality feedback on commercial services provided to local markets.
- Sales and Marketing Collateral:
○ Assist in the development and ensure the availability of effective sales and marketing materials for events, travel shows, and holidays.
○ Collaborate with the marketing department to create promotional campaigns and packages that align with sales objectives.
- Revenue Management:
○ Monitor room availability, pricing, and occupancy rates to optimise revenue.
○ Implement pricing strategies and negotiate contracts for accommodation and extras with clients.
○ Manage group and event bookings efficiently to maximise revenue potential.
- Sales Reporting and Analysis / Key Metrics:
○ Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and budgets to track performance.
○ Use data analytics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
○ Work closely with marketing and operations teams to optimise revenue strategies.
- Event Coordination:
○ Coordinate group bookings and events in collaboration with the marketing team.
○ Ensure seamless execution of events and meetings, providing support from booking to delivery.
- Customer Satisfaction:
○ Ensure exceptional customer service throughout the booking process and client stays.
○ Address DMC and agent inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
○ Facilitate effective communication between operations and the CRSO department regarding Arusha Coffee Lodge and the wider group as needed.
○ Proactively identify and address issues, implementing solutions to minimise operational challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Sales Manager in the hotel or hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in hotel reservation systems (Res request) and sales software.
- Knowledge of local and the current international market trends and competitor analysis.
- Customer-focused with a passion for exceeding guest expectations.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets.
