Technical Sales Manager

Reports to:  Sales Director/ Managing Director

Location:  Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

The Person:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager to lead our technical sales team in achieving country revenue targets. The successful candidate will develop and implement sales strategies, identify new business opportunities, and build strong relationships with clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the technical sales team to achieve sales targets per quarterly and annually.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth at the same time maintain client’s relationships.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with both existing and potential clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships by engaging with potential and existing clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical department and market department to present technical solutions to clients and addressing their needs.
  • Negotiate on existing and new contracts and close sales deals.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations and proposals at industrial events and trade shows.
  • Manage sales pipeline and forecast sales performance by collaborating with the sales team.
  • Train and mentor existing and new technical sales engineers about company products and services.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and address any issues by following up with clients on the services they received from the company.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports and annual report to update management on year end targets
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of company products and services
  • Work closely with marketing department to generate new leads
  • Stay updated on industry developments and new technologies to monitor market trends and competitor activities.
  • Implement best practices in sales processes and techniques.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, computer science or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in technical sales management
  • Strong understanding of sales principles, practices, and techniques
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to lead and manage a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales pipeline management

Remuneration
