Carbon Tanzania (CT) is looking for a skilled, motivated and experienced Communications Manager to support the company’s growth and development within Tanzania.

The Communications Manager will be responsible for implementing the recently updated CT communications strategy. The ideal candidate will have the skills to ensure CT’s key

messages reach the company’s target audiences using tools and channels as guided by the strategy. Administrative competency with computer skills and excellent English are essential. The Communications Manager will report to the Director of Operations. The position is based in Arusha.

Communications Manager Job Vacancy at Carbon Tanzania

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To lead the implementation of the company communications strategy as required to support the growth of company operations within Tanzania
  • Work with the communications team to convey Carbon Tanzania’s key messages and those of each of Carbon Tanzania’s projects in order to support and enhance the brand throughout Tanzania and to support business expansion
  • To oversee the deployment of all communications tools and content being distributed in order to reach target audiences through dedicated channels including social media, owned media, Tanzanian media and events
  • Liaise with the core communications team on a regular basis
  • Liaise with the operations team to remain up to date with project operations
  • Work with the company’s chosen content creators to secure content (including video, images etc..) that supports the company’s key messages, and contributes to the creation of company communications materials as required.
  • Maintain and further promote Carbon Tanzania’s corporate brand within Tanzania
  • Liaise with the “Level”1business team in order to support the development of the Level brand, its thought leadership function, and its associated business products.
  • Support the CT Tanzanian client base with content requests, emissions calculations, payments and project updates
  • Provide regular analysis and reports on the effectiveness of individual tools and the strategy overall.
  • Establish and develop relationships with Tanzanian media, Tanzanian client base and Carbon Tanzania’s partners
  • Any other work as may be assigned by leaders and Supervisors

Communications Manager Job Vacancy at Carbon Tanzania

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong experience (minimum of 3 years) working as a communications manager or communications officer in the business sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills including experience working with a small and diverse team
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills in English and Swahili
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to solve problems with creativity.
  • Ability to think strategically about business development in a complex and changing market environment.
  • An established track record of achieving results and impact in communications
  • Experience in, or strong understanding of, triple bottom line social enterprises and corporate social responsibility; working knowledge of carbon markets in particular the voluntary carbon market is a plus.
  • Strong personal commitment and passion for achieving positive social development and environmental conservation impacts

The contract duration is performance-based with a two-year duration, starting in April 2023. The compensation system will be commensurate with experience and appropriate for the Communications Manager of a small to medium enterprise.
