The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) is a semi-autonomous government agency of the United Republic of Tanzania, established by an Act of Parliament in 1995 and commencing operations on July 1, 1996. Its primary responsibility is to administer and collect central government taxes, as well as certain non-tax revenues.

The TRA’s mission is to facilitate tax payment and enhance compliance for sustainable development, with a vision of being a trusted revenue administration for socio-economic progress. It plays a crucial role in Tanzania’s economy by assessing, collecting, and accounting for government revenue, advising on fiscal policy, promoting voluntary tax compliance, and combating tax evasion. The Authority also works to improve service standards for taxpayers and produces trade statistics.

The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) advertised 1,596 job vacancies in various fields from 06 to 19 February, 2025, where TRA carefully reviewed all applications received and found 112,952 job applicants who met the criteria set and were therefore eligible to be called for a written interview which was held from 29 to 30 March, 2025.

After the Written Interview, Applicants who passed the written interview have now been called for a verbal interview , with the list released today on 26th April 2025.
