Mwananchi Communications Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Nation Media Group (NMG), is Tanzania’s largest independent news network with an award­winning presence in print and digital media, and exciting new ventures in innovation and events ecosystems. We are publishers of leading national news brands Mwananchi, The Citizen and Mwanaspoti in print and digital formats, and proprietors of the Mwananchi Digital suite of products and Nation ePaper and EGazeti web platforms. We are audience-led, market-driven with a clear mission to empower the nation. We are looking for a motivated and highly experienced individual to fill the position of:

CREATIVE VISUAL ARTIST (1 POST)

PURPOSE: Is to conceptualize and produce visual content that communicates ideas, messages, and narratives effectively through various artistic mediums.

Main Responsibilities:

  •  Develop and pitch creative concepts for visual projects.
  •  Collaborate with writers, editors, and photographers to plan and execute online content.
  •  Direct reporters during filming to achieve the desired artistic vision.
  •  Edit and oversee post-production processes to ensure high quality final products.
  •  Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to enhance creative output.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Academic: Bachelor’s degree in Film or Media Production, Digital Journalism, Visual Arts, Design, Mass Communication, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of working experience, preferably in a media or agency environment in progressively responsible content production roles.

Other Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Extras: Ability to do basic visualizations using HTML+CSS, or object- oriented languages such as Java, Python & Ruby with scripters (Perl, Bash) would be an added advantage.
