We are looking for a skilled and friendly waiter/waitress to join our team! This position plays a big role in creating and providing the best customer experience and satisfaction. Your ultimate goal should be to provide an exceptional guest experience.
Our client operation is based in Private Island in Kilwa southern Tanzania and we need candidates who are willing to relocate to that private highland.
Key responsibilities and Duties:
Ø Responsible for all service preparations before, during and after the service (mis-en-place & mis-en-scene).
Ø Ensure minimum wastage, breakage and spoilage
Ø Actively use up selling techniques Provide excellent customer services
Ø Always strive towards best customer satisfaction
Ø Greet customers and present menus
Ø Make suggestions based on their preferences
Ø Take and serve food/drinks orders
Ø Up-sell when appropriate
Ø Arrange table settings
Ø Keep tables clean and tidy at all times
Ø Check products for quality
Ø Cooperate and communicate with all serving and kitchen staff
Ø Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines
Job requirements and qualifications
Ø 5 years of experience as a waiter or waitress
Ø Experience with developing a constructive working and interpersonal relationships with colleagues and customers
Ø 2 years of experience with a cash register and any ordering information system
Ø Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
Ø Team player
Ø Good time-management skills
Ø Great interpersonal and communication skills
Ø Active listening
Ø Good physical condition
Ø Customer-centric
Ø High school diploma; food safety training will be considered a plus
