PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Senior Mining Engineer -MT, LT& Projects will develop and refine medium term and long-term Open pit mine plans to maximizes resource extractions and profitability.

The Senior Mining Engineer – MT, LT& Projects will create detailed production schedules and coordinate with operation teams to ensure adherence, providing timely feedback to achieve Mine Plan Budget.

            QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree in Mining Engineering or relevant discipline possession of relevant professional certification or licenses.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in Open Pit Mine planning.
• Experience in short term to Long term open pit mine planning.
• Expertise in Vulcan, Datamine studio OP, Micromine Spry, Rapid reserver, Whittle and microsoft packages and other 3D modeling and mine design tools.
• Background in budgeting, cost control and financial analysis related to mining projects.

            MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Utilize mine planning and scheduling tools to create optimal mine designs and schedules.
• Develop and maintain medium term to Life- of-mine plans.
• Prepare the annual budget plan and support the development of the budget operating and capital cost.
• Assist in the creations and implementation of the strategic mine plans.
• Implement medium term and long term mine planning standards and procedures, guidelines, best practices, and planning improvement initiatives.
• Work with the production team to reinforce plan compliances.
• Evaluate and develop any Open Pit opportunities.
• Manage training and personal development of Mining Engineers
• Coordinates Month End reporting process for OP/UG production statistics
• Compile reports on a regular basis in line with internal and external reporting requirements.
• To provide a safe work environment, implement and deliver compliance with SHE&C department plans, management systems and processes within Planning Section.
• Report on any Open Pit opportunities.
• Provide inputs for any project work as required by the GGM LOM Plan/Strategy.

• Proficient in understanding the business outcomes of mine plans as well knowing potential outcomes from applying different mine plans and strategy.
