Audit Manager: Duties & Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities for the Audit Manager position include:

  • Leading and managing audit engagements from planning through to completion.
  • Reviewing and finalizing financial statements, audit reports, and internal controls with accuracy and clarity.
  • Ensuring compliance with auditing standards, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Overseeing and providing guidance on tax audits and assessments, while supporting clients in resolving issues with authorities.
  • Identifying risk areas in both financial and tax reporting and recommending effective solutions.
  • Collaborating with tax and accounting teams to deliver integrated, value-added client solutions.
  • Supervising, coaching, and developing audit staff to strengthen their audit and tax technical expertise.
  • Maintaining and enhancing client relationships by delivering timely advisory and building long-term trust.
  • Supporting business development initiatives, including cross-selling tax and audit services.
  • Driving process improvements to boost audit quality, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Formulating and managing Transfer Pricing policies.
  • Liaising with tax authorities on tax assessments, audits, and other compliance matters.

Audit Manager: Skills & Requirements

To be considered for the Audit Manager position, candidates should have the following skills and qualifications:

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications like CPA, CA, or ACCA are preferred.

    Experience

  • A minimum of 4 to 6 years of proven experience in auditing and tax compliance is required, and firm experience is preferred for this role.

    Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of local and international tax laws and regulations is essential.
  • Candidates should also have strong knowledge of IFRS, IAS, and local regulatory frameworks.

    Skills:

  • The position requires excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are needed to effectively liaise with clients and team members.
  • Proficiency in tax and accounting software is also an added advantage.
