Job Summary

The Electrical Planner is responsible for coordinating and managing all electrical maintenance activities within the plant. This role ensures efficient scheduling, execution, and documentation of maintenance work to optimize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support overall plant performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all plant maintenance activities to ensure smooth operations.
  • Plan and manage the step-by-step execution of major equipment outages and significant repairs using project-planning tools and software.
  • Ensure completion of all regulated inspections in line with safety and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with production and other departments to develop and implement effective work schedules for maintenance activities.
  • Act as the liaison between departments to ensure optimal coordination and communication.
  • Ensure the availability of parts and materials by working with the stores department on procurement, supplier selection, and inventory control.
  • Assist in controlling and reducing inventory levels by reviewing reorder points, identifying obsolete parts, and optimizing stock levels.
  • Support the Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Managers in preparing the annual maintenance budget and developing long-term departmental goals.
  • Review maintenance costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA and other statutory safety regulations.
  • Adhere to environmental policies and company sustainability standards.
  • Uphold the HM Group Code of Business Conduct and Compliance Guidelines.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in plant preventive maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance principles, techniques, and technologies.
  • Good understanding of purchasing and inventory management principles.
  • Proven project management skills, preferably involving cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Project).
  • Experience using ERP systems for maintenance planning and tracking.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
