Job Purpose

The Specialist, Internet Banking & Digital Initiatives, is responsible for managing the daily operations and support functions of Internet Banking services and digital initiatives under Wholesale Banking. The role ensures seamless system functionality, excellent customer support, and successful implementation of digital solutions for corporate and institutional clients, including those in the Agriculture, Wholesale, and Government segments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Internet Banking platform, Direct Debit, and related digital solutions for both retail and business clients.
  • Facilitate onboarding and integration of corporate and institutional clients to Internet Banking and digital platforms.
  • Educate users on platform functionalities, benefits, and digital security best practices.
  • Monitor performance, availability, and security of Internet Banking and other digital systems.
  • Collaborate with branches and Relationship Managers to promote digital banking adoption among clients.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and training to sales and frontline support teams.
  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences across digital channels for corporate clients.
  • Offer technical and user support for digital systems, ensuring functionality, stability, and usability.
  • Work with IT teams and vendors to coordinate upgrades, bug fixes, feature rollouts, and integrations.
  • Handle and resolve technical queries related to Internet Banking and digital solutions promptly.
  • Maintain zero backlog of technical requests or unresolved customer issues.
  • Participate in digital project planning, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and post-implementation reviews.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on system performance, customer usage, and support metrics.
  • Contribute to process re-engineering, service improvement, and innovation initiatives led by the Transaction Solutions team.
  • Review and enhance internal procedures for greater efficiency, security, and compliance.
  • Escalate system-related issues as per the defined escalation matrix.
  • Ensure compliance with NMB Bank policies, operational frameworks, and consumer protection regulations.
  • Identify and report business risks associated with digital banking solutions.
  • Stay updated on emerging digital banking technologies and advise management on industry trends.
  • Promote a customer-focused culture within the digital banking team.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of digital banking and financial service products.
  • Technical expertise in electronic banking systems, digital product management, and IT operations.
  • Knowledge of NMB Bank strategy, internal systems, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Skills in project management, data analysis, and business planning.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
  • Strong decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in digital banking, fintech, or related technical roles.
