Key Responsibilities
1. Channel Management
- Maintain a clean and accurate customer master through regular reviews.
- Ensure distributor payments are receipted correctly and on time.
- Ensure that all stock issued is either fully paid for or secured.
- Carry out credit assessments for distributors and ensure no credit exposure to the company.
- Prepare termination payments for distributors as required.
- Review Channel Partners’ Debtors Aging reports.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports to Group Finance (AG, DTRs).
- Support distributors in managing their accounts, including profitability analysis.
- Ensure quarterly confirmation of distributor balances.
2. Reporting
- Ensure timely accounts receivable (AR) period closure and generation of aging reports.
- Respond promptly to ad hoc reporting requests.
- Ensure timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of channel inputs as per ACE India/Tanzania SLAs and reporting calendar requirements (IUC, cross-charge invoicing).
- Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly reporting templates (internal and external).
- Reconcile all internal SIM wallets, collections, easy recharge, payouts, and petty cash.
- Ensure accurate revenue booking and proper reconciliation of cross-charges.
- Review reconciliations (Annexure 2, petty cash, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with group reconciliation guidelines for all accounts.
- Prepare customer account reconciliations and monitor closure of reconciling items.
- Ensure timely billing, netting-off transactions, and collections.
- Manage bad debts effectively.
3. Cash Management
- Ensure all collections are banked promptly.
- Conduct periodic reviews and daily monitoring of E-Value at shops.
- Monitor and enforce accountabilities for petty cash usage.
- Train shop staff on cash handling and reporting procedures.
- Oversee vendor payments, netting-off, and collections.
- Thoroughly review bank reconciliation statements (BRS) and ensure timely booking.
- Support risk management and debt-management procedures.
4. Inventory Management
- Ensure all shops are properly set up before trading.
- Train cashiers on cash reporting and inventory-management procedures.
- Monitor shop stock ordering patterns.
- Ensure all stock at shops and warehouses is accounted for as per accounting guidelines.
- Follow up on stock variances through physical verification.
- Reconcile and manage stock holdings at shop level.
- Ensure correct stock accounting for sold items in line with Central Finance guidelines (e.g., handsets, dongles).
Qualifications
Educational Qualifications
- University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional qualification: ACCA, CPA, CFA (completed or in progress).
Relevant Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in FMCG or Telecom.
- Strong knowledge of telecom industry operations is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated experience conducting quantitative and qualitative financial analysis.
- Proficiency in MS Office; advanced Excel skills required.
- Proven ability to analyze complex business issues and recommend effective solutions.
