Job Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to drive growth in Loans and Advances, Deposits, and alternative banking products at branch level. The position is responsible for managing all sales activities, as well as supporting, monitoring, training, and coaching Branch Sales Officers to achieve business targets across assigned branches.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

1. Business Soliciting and Customer Acquisition

  • Acquire and recruit new customers while maintaining frequent engagement with existing clients.
  • Ensure all customer acquisition points are consistently operational and effective.
  • Enhance customer experience by ensuring effective execution of:
    • Account opening and maintenance
    • Loan onboarding
    • Digital onboarding, activation, and usage
  • Identify priority sectors and business opportunities within the local market.
  • Conduct customer identification, solicitation, KYC, and risk reviews prior to account opening.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Partners to support development of market-relevant products.
  • Provide continuous feedback to the Head of Customer Network on product and service performance.
  • Engage Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) and Business Banking (BB) teams to unlock retail opportunities under the One Bank Concept.
  • Address customer queries related to business and banking services.

2. Deposit Mobilization

  • Analyze local business dynamics and proactively identify deposit growth opportunities.
  • Supervise and execute all deposit mobilization campaigns at branch level.
  • Actively solicit deposits from all customer segments to achieve branch deposit targets.
  • Ensure timely follow-up and execution of activities outlined in the branch activity calendar.

3. Cross-Selling and Market Intelligence

  • Cross-sell the full range of NBC products, including:
    • Mobile and Internet Banking
    • Agent Banking
    • Insurance products
    • Deposit and loan products
    • Foreign exchange and transfer services
  • Collect and analyze market intelligence on competitors, product offerings, and service levels.

4. Relationship Management

  • Drive customer engagement initiatives within the branch and local market.
  • Conduct regular client visits to build trust, confidence, and long-term loyalty.
  • Identify and onboard potential clients through targeted meetings and product discussions.
  • Develop, build, and maintain long-term relationships with segmented customers.
  • Participate in corporate and customer social events and manage end-to-end customer interactions.
  • Ensure maintenance and growth of acquired business to sustain customer activity and minimize churn.

5. Reporting, Monitoring, and Turnaround Management

  • Maintain an up-to-date database of High Net Worth (HNW) customers at branch level.
  • Monitor branch business performance against agreed KPIs.
  • Track loan turnaround times and support recovery initiatives.
  • Manage and monitor Portfolio at Risk (PAR) and Non-Performing Loans (NPL) for retail loans.
  • Provide reports and inputs to the Stressed Asset Management Unit and support recovery efforts.

6. Coaching and Mentoring

  • Coach and mentor branch sales teams on an ongoing basis.
  • Monitor sales performance and report against agreed KPIs.

7. Other Duties

  • Participate in branch budgeting for all sales-related activities.
  • Prepare business proposals and management reports for approval.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Branch Manager.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ banking experience.
  • Broad knowledge of banking products, practices, and regulatory requirements.
