Job Purpose/Mission

First Line Support Officer is responsible to provide first line (helpdesk) technical support to customers, assisting them with hardware and software problems via phone, helpdesk or onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to user requests for service, troubleshoot problems and help develop solutions.
  • Support PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software.
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment and arrange for other servicing needs.
  • Monitor antivirus software and updates and repair computers infected with spyware, adware and/or viruses.
  • Record activities, solutions, and other responses to request for service.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory records and documentation for equipment.
  • Develop and provide user training for basic hardware and software use.
  • Provide backup technical support for network including router, firewall, and wireless access point.
  • Provide support and training to contractors on mobile applications
  • Maintains open communication and positive working relationship with staff.
  • Maintain IT inventory on the IT inventory software.
  • Conduct regular checkups on devices.
  • Undertake any other related duties as assigned by the line management from time to time

Knowledge and skills

  • Conduct regular checkups on devices.
  • Computer literacy, particularly good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite/365 Office Apps
  • Software installation
  • Hardware setup
  • Computer repair and troubleshooting

Experience:

  • Relevant First Line/Helpdesk Support experience
  • 1 year experience working in IT role(s)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft-based Operating Systems (OS) with emphasis on Windows desktop technologies (Windows 10)
  • Basic networking experience
