NAFAKA KILIMO is a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that is currently hiring for two positions. The organization works with public and private entities to expand market opportunities and create sustainable growth in the agricultural sector.

Open Vacancies

1. Business Development Officer (3 Posts)

  • Locations: Morogoro Urban & Morogoro Rural; Gairo DC & Kilosa DC; and Chemba DC & Kondoa DC.
  • Responsibilities: The Business Development Officer is responsible for identifying, mapping, coaching, mentoring, and connecting youth farmer service centers (FSCs) to various value chain actors to create jobs and deliver services to farmers. This includes conducting business needs assessments, facilitating training on entrepreneurship and financial literacy, and linking FSCs to partners for inputs, finance, and marketing.
  • Qualifications:
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics Agriculture, or Agronomy is preferred.
    • At least three years of working experience with smallholder farmers, particularly female youth, in job creation and access to inputs, markets, finance, and mechanization.
    • Excellent knowledge of cereals, sunflower, horticulture, and poultry production.
    • Strong leadership, writing, and oral communication skills.
    • Fluency in written and spoken Kiswahili and English.

2. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist (1 Post)

  • Position Summary: The MEL Specialist is responsible for all monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities and must ensure they align with the organization’s plan and donor requirements. The specialist will design and implement a system to track the progress and impact of project activities.
  • Responsibilities: Key duties include developing and updating the project’s MEL plan, organizing learning events, and establishing relationships with donors like the World Food Programme (WFP). The specialist will also develop data collection tools, conduct field visits, and ensure regular communication of MEL activities to stakeholders.
  • Qualifications:
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Economics, International development, Computer Science, statistics, or a related field is required.
    • A minimum of five years of experience in monitoring and evaluation for an international development program is necessary.
    • Experience integrating youth and women into project activities is required.
    • Strong quantitative and qualitative skills, with experience in data analysis and statistical packages like SPSS or ACCESS.
    • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
    • Experience with WFP’s rules and regulations is strongly preferred.
