BioBuu is a leading recycling company specialising in the production of animal feed from organic waste. With a commitment to environmental sustainability, we operate across multiple sites in Tanzania, processing waste through innovative methods to create high-quality animal feed (Chicken, Fish and Dog). As part of our expansion plans, we are seeking an experienced bookkeeper to oversee and optimize operations across our sites in Tanzania.

Job Overview We are seeking a meticulous and organized Accountant to join our team. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for accurately recording and maintaining financial transactions, ensuring compliance with established accounting principles and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mathematical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

1. Record day-to-day financial transactions including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
3. Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are accounted for.
4. Prepare and send invoices to customers and track accounts receivable.
5. Process accounts payable and ensure timely payments to vendors.
6. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
7. Monitor and track expenses, identifying areas for cost-saving opportunities.
8. Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
9. Maintain confidentiality of financial information and exercise discretion in handling sensitive data.
10. Operate payment systems; Online and mobile banking.
11. Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth financial operations.

Requirements

1. Proven experience as an accountant in a similar role.
2. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
3. Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
4. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
9. Relevant certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper) a plus.
