As we expand our operations, we are seeking an experienced Accountant with expertise in both accounting and the unique financial aspects of the safari and holiday industry.
Job Summary: As the Accountant at Lifestyle Safaris, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of the company. This role requires not only a strong background in accounting but also a deep understanding of safari and holiday logistics, including issuing park fees, concession fees, and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Prepare financial statements and reports for management review.
- Safari and Holiday Financial Expertise:
- Possess in-depth knowledge of safari and holiday industry financial intricacies.
- Manage the issuance of park fees and concession fees.
- Understand the financial aspects of planning, forecasting, and budgeting for safari and holiday operations.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive budgets and forecasts for safari and holiday operations.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets, providing regular updates to management.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
- Conduct regular training sessions to ensure the team’s understanding of safari and holiday financial processes.
- Collaboration with Operations:
- Work closely with the operations team to align financial strategies with business objectives.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making within the company.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance and accounting.
- BCom or relevant professional qualification.
- Proven experience in the safari and holiday industry, with a solid understanding of park fees, concession fees, and overall operational dynamics.
- Strong analytical and strategic financial planning skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
