Position: Accountant

Industry: Consultancy

Location: Dar Es Salaam

Responsibilities

1. Preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
2. Handling payroll processing, including monthly salaries, statutory payments, and ensuring timely remittances.
3. Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records.
4. Posting transactions accurately into the Zoho Accounting System or similar software.
5. Performing bank reconciliations and ensuring timely payments to all suppliers.
6. Preparing and filing all statutory payments (TRA, NSSF, WCF, SDL) with relevant government authorities, as required.
7. Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
8. Assisting in the preparation of annual financial statements in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
9. Performing monitoring supplier’s quotations.
10. Providing tax planning and advisory support to ensure compliance with tax legislation.
11. Liaising with auditors, banks, TRA, and other statutory bodies as required.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. CPA/ACCA certification or its equivalent (strong advantage).
3. Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and tax compliance.
4. Proven proficiency in the use of the Zoho Accounting System or similar financial software.
5. Strong understanding of Tanzanian tax laws, statutory payments, and IFRS.
6. Proficiency in financial analysis, reconciliations, and management reporting.
7. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
9. Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
10. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
11. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
12. Strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
