Boiler Operator Job Vacancy at Lake Cement

Department: Captive Power Plant

Education: Full-time VETA, preferably Boiler Technician

Experience:

• 0–1 year of combined field experience in the operation of DCS panels, boilers, and steam turbines, including maintenance.
• Experience in coal-based thermal power plants with AFBC boilers is desirable.

Essential Skills Required:

1. Expertise in major repair activities of boilers and turbine overhauling.
2. Knowledge and experience in cold and hot start-up of AFBC boilers from both DCS panels and the field.
3. Ability to manage power plant operational emergencies such as plant blackouts, system failures, and sudden load throws.
4. Proficiency in addressing breakdowns such as bed coil punctures, bed coil replacements, and hydro testing of boilers.
5. Strong troubleshooting skills for boilers and DCS panels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage shift operations in a thermal power generation unit.
• Plan and execute shift operational activities, including troubleshooting and resolving operational problems.
• Plan load management and stoppage drives of the plant.
• Conduct routine checks after taking charge of shifts, coordinating with field operators to address minor maintenance tasks.
• Monitor and ensure environmental compliance during shifts.
• Safely operate the entire power plant and utilities, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the cement plant as per load requirements.
• Handle emergency situations in boiler and turbine operations to minimize stoppages of connected load main drives due to operational issues.
