Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania for a Contents Manager both TV, Radio and Digital Platforms. The Contents Manager will oversee all aspects of programs content, including researching, selecting, and supervising content that goes on air. They will also be responsible for managing the production standards of programs, ensuring that they comply with company policies and effectively communicate the message of the company. The manager will also be responsible for creating and approving program concepts, developing relationships with stakeholders and partners, and monitoring audience feedback to maximize audience engagement and revenue. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in content creation, creativity, and innovation, while ensuring that all content aligns with the company’s vision, mission, and values.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey clear and concise messages
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
  • Experience with managing teams and overseeing content management and distributions
  • Thorough knowledge of Media industry trends, as well as audience and programming demographics
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • At least 5 years of experience in Media, content development, production, or management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and manage a high-performing team
  • At least 5 years in managerial level
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, as well as industry-standard scheduling and content management software
  • Thorough knowledge of television, Digital and radio broadcast standards and practices
  • Familiarity with the East African media landscape, audience preferences, and cultural sensitivities
  • Experience in developing and producing content in both English and Swahili languages.
