Position: Environment Supervisor

Reports to: Technical Manager

Position Type: Staff Position

Job Location: Arusha, Tanzania

Objective of the Role: To ensure effective management of all environmental activities, including gardening, landscaping, waste management, and compliance with safety regulations. The position aims to maintain a sustainable, clean, and safe environment while leading a team to deliver high-quality results efficiently and on time.

Main responsibilties:

1. Oversee gardening, landscaping, and general environmental maintenance in the farm.
2. Ensure compliance with environmental health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
3. Implement and monitor waste management practices, including proper garbage disposal.
4. Lead and supervise a large team, ensuring productivity and efficiency.
5. Plan, organize, and execute environmental projects within deadlines.
6. Identify innovative and sustainable approaches to improve the environment and workplace.
7. Serve as a strong communication link between management and the team.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Minimum of a Diploma in Environmental Science or a related field (a degree is not required).
2. Proven experience in environmental management, landscaping, gardening, or a related area.
3. Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards.
4. Excellent proven leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage large teams.
5. Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
6. Ability to think creatively and propose out-of-the-box solutions.
7. Fluent in English and Swahili with excellent communication and reporting skills.
