The Field Assistant Engineer will support the on-site Field Engineer by handling administrative and financial reporting, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of project activities. The position requires strong technical understanding, field experience, and mobility across multiple solar plant sites in Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, consolidate, and report daily site activities, including progress updates, workforce, and equipment status.
Prepare and maintain administrative and financial documentation (timesheets, expense reports, purchase orders, etc.).
Assist the Field Engineer in coordination with subcontractors, suppliers, and local authorities.
Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards on site.
Monitor materials and logistics, and prepare reports on deliveries, stock, and consumption.
Provide regular updates and summaries to the engineering and project management teams.
Profile Requirements
Education: Degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of field experience in construction, energy, or solar projects.
Languages: Fluent in English and Swahili (spoken and written).
Skills: Strong reporting and organizational abilities, good command of MS Excel and basic financial tracking tools.
Personal Attributes: Autonomous, detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable with frequent field travel.
