Your Role
We are looking for a Finance Intern to assist us with various accounting and financial tasks within the organization. This is an entry-level position suitable for candidates with 0-5 months of relevant experience who are looking to develop their accounting skills and gain practical experience in the field.
Your Responsibilities
Petty Cash Management.
- Follow up with petty cash and imprest retirement.
- Prepare a cash count certificate at the end of every month to be duly checked and verified by the Finance Manager.
Bank Reconciliation for all banks and mobile money accounts..
Assisting in Accounts Payable and Receivable reconciliation..
Assisting on tax filing matters.
- Prepare withholding tax schedules for filling before 3rd of the following month.
- Assist to visit TRA for stamp duty
- Sending withholding tax certificates and checking for Withholding tax certificates from our customers.
Assist on processing payments
Audit Support
- Provide support during external audits by preparing relevant documentation.
- Assist on the stock count at the end of the year and signoff of stock count certificate.
Record Keeping
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation for reference and auditing purposes.
Assist finance manager with other assigned tasks.
Your Profile
- A bachelor of commerce in accounting or Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance for automotive and transportation with good grades, preferably Upper second.
- Good exposure and passion in electric mobility space in Africa.
- Experience: Prior internship experience will be considered a plus.
Your Skills
- Proficiency in the English language is highly desired.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, XERO).
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and other departments.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new accounting procedures and software.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- A commitment to professional growth and development in the field of accounting.
