Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) is a diaconal organization mandated by churches and Christian organizations in Norway to work with people around the world to eradicate poverty and injustice.
In Tanzania, NCA works mainly with Faith Based Organizations to uphold human dignity, promote human rights, and accompany poor and marginalized communities in their struggles for economic and social justice. NCA implements programs that are aligned with NCA global strategy, people’s needs in Tanzania, and the Government of Tanzania’s development policies.

NCA Tanzania is seeking a committed and result-oriented Finance Officer to join our team in Dar Es Salaam.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare internal and external disbursements in compliance with NCA routines, guidelines, and donor requirements, ensuring all payment requests are properly supported, within approved budgets, and aligned with NCA Tanzania approval limits.

Compile, review, and verify all vendor and supplier documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with NCA financial procedures.

Manage payroll processes and ensure timely submission of all statutory deductions, including PAYE, pension contributions, SDL, and the Workers’ Compensation Fund (WCF).

Maintain an accurate and well-organized audit trail for all financial documentation, including vouchers, receipts, and related files.

Prepare quarterly financial forecasts and spending projections for the office and submit timely funding requests to the Head Office.

Monitor bank accounts regularly to ensure sufficient liquidity.

Support internal and external audit exercises by preparing and submitting required documentation promptly.

Participate in partner monitoring visits and contribute to financial capacity-building initiatives for NCA partners.

Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications and Working Experience
-
Tanzanian national with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, or Finance from a recognized higher learning institution.

Two years’ relevant working experience, especially in the NGO sector.

CPA or intermediate level will be an added advantage.

Experience in using accounting packages and Microsoft excel.

Good communication skills.

Having the ability to learn fast and adapt to change easily.

Timely deliveries under minimum supervision.

Good people skills, including relationship building with various stakeholders.
Remuneration
NCA standard compensation package will apply to the successful candidate.
