Land O’Lakes Venture37 (Venture37) is soliciting proposals from qualified and experienced firms or individuals to conduct a Final Evaluation as described in this Request for Proposals (RFP). These services are required for the Hatching Hope Accelerated Innovative Delivery Initiative (AIDI) project for services to be performed in Tanzania.

  • Firms and individuals invited by Venture37 (hereinafter “Bidders”) to submit offers for the services described in this RFP are under no obligation to do so.
  • The Bidder shall bear all costs associated with the preparation and submission of the Proposal; Venture37 will in no case be liable for those costs, regardless of the conduct or outcome of the solicitation.

Page 2: Technical Specifications – Project Overview

Through the Accelerated Innovation Delivery Initiative – Livestock (AIDI-L) project, Land O’Lakes Venture37 (Venture37), in collaboration with the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), is increasing the productivity and availability of chicken meat and eggs in the Dodoma Region of Tanzania. The project partners with Silverlands, one of Tanzania’s leading hatcheries, to strengthen micro and small enterprises to provide improved dual-purpose (IDP) month-old chicks, bundled extension services, and offtake markets for rural small scale producers (SSPs). Silverlands has used similar models in other regions to drive demand for their day-old IDP chicks, poultry feed, and vaccines. With the support from AIDI-L, Silverlands was able to refine these models and hasten their expansion into the Dodoma region to take advantage of the dramatic increase in poultry demand caused by rapid population growth due to the shifting of the country’s capital.

Since May 2024, AIDI-L has supported poultry actors in Kondoa, Chamwino, Kongwa, and Mpwapwa districts in the Dodoma region to demonstrate two key business models:
