H&S Supervisor

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Contract duration: 12 months’ renewable

On behalf of our customers, we are currently recruiting for an H&S Supervisor to be placed in Dar es Salaam and would be on a 12 months’ contract with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

  • The H&S Supervisor will participate in developing targeted HSE Improvement Plans and ensure alignment with approved Plans.
  • Build relationships and engage with management representatives from the Company & Partners.
  • Participate in project Go/No-go HSE/R3 reviews for project mobilization.
  • Conduct thorough contractor HSE assessments and pre-qualifications.
  • Facilitate HSE Risk Assessments and ensure comprehensive HSE Management Plans are in place.
  • Support the EPcmC staff & contractors in delivering the Pipeline and related facilities on time and within budget.
  • Provide training and coaching to local content personnel.
  • Ensure safe work practices are communicated and implemented.
  • Communicate Worley’s principles of “Life” and Zero Harm within the EACOP project.
  • Review contractor HSE documents to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor contractor HSE activities, ensuring KPIs are met.
  • Participate in HSE inspections, assessments, and audits as necessary.
  • Engage with multicultural contractors and report on HSE performance.
  • Mentor exemplary behavior regarding HSE Ethics and the Company’s “Code of Conduct” policy.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HSE or a related field is preferred, with 5 to 7 years of experience in an HSE-related field (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualifications preferred).
  • 8 years of HSE experience within oil & gas pipeline projects, including contractor construction, commissioning, and start-up readiness.
  • Proficiency in HSE management systems, safety compliance, and risk controls.
  • Strong knowledge of PTW systems and HSE regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with multicultural teams.

Required Competencies

  • Competency within proprietary management systems for project delivery.
  • Proficiency in industry applications such as Assure, OMIE, Aconex, SharePoint, Adobe, MS Office.
  • Knowledge of ISO 31000 and root cause analysis.
  • Proven ability to meet HSE objectives and deliverables in complex projects.
  • Experience in managing staff, mentoring, and adapting to shifting priorities.
