Vodafone is seeking a dedicated IP/MPLS Operations Engineer to join their global team. This role is focused on maintaining operational excellence, ensuring network security, and driving the evolution of Vodafone’s IP network infrastructure.
Role Purpose
The successful candidate will maintain and support IP/MPLS network operations, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-speed connectivity and business continuity. The role emphasizes automation, modernization, and proactive maintenance.
Key Accountabilities
1. Network Maintenance & KPI Delivery

Manage end-to-end IP/MPLS network KPIs through preventive, reactive, and corrective maintenance.

Ensure all regular updates and security patches are applied according to vendor recommendations.
2. Network Evolution & Documentation
-
Advise the business on optimal solutions and modern technologies to align with company strategy.

Maintain detailed network schematics, configurations, and software versions.

Focus on network modernization and the implementation of automation tools.
3. Monitoring & Reporting

Ensure critical services and links are monitored with set thresholds for upgrade planning.

Manage incident documentation, change control, root cause analysis (RCA), and business continuity procedures.
Required Competencies

Problem Solving: Advanced analysis and fast resolution skills for complex network issues.

Technical Design: Strong IP network design and troubleshooting capabilities.

Communication: Effective oral and written skills for stakeholder management.

Business Acumen: Awareness of how technical operations impact overall business goals.
Job Specifications
Academic & Experience:
-
Education: University Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Telecommunications Operations.

Vendor Knowledge: Experience working with multiple suppliers, specifically Cisco, Juniper, and Huawei.
Technical Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of mobile network architectures and IP services operations.

Proficiency in Network Security.
-
Mandatory Certifications: CCNA/CCNP, JNCA, or CCNSP/CCNSE.
Work Conditions:

Flexibility to work outside normal hours as required.
-
Willingness to travel extensively, occasionally on short notice.
