JOB POSITION: IT OFFICER
COMPANY: BELLATRIX MEDIA LIMITED
WORKING LOCATION: DAR ES SALAAM

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
• Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
• Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
• Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
• Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
• Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
• Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
• Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
• Plans future enhancements for computer networks.
• The ICT Officer installs, configures, manages, and does capacity planning for communications networks carrying data, voice, and video.
• Develops standards for computer and network including include standards for wiring, equipment, system security, and routing protocol.
• Offers technical support and direction to staff and participates directly in the daily operations required to manage a network, utilizing equipment such as switches, routers, hubs, bridges, and transport media (e.g., wire, fiber optic, cable, wireless).
• Analyzes work for security vulnerabilities and breaches.
• Serves as the network technical specialist on network problems and emergencies, and assists in troubleshooting and resolving network problems.
• Performs any other duties assigned by the manager.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate should at least possess a Bachelor’s degree in Information technology, with at least 2 years of experience in related field..

• Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position

Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills

• Excellent communication ability
• Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
• In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
• Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
• Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
• Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage
• Knowledge of hardware maintenance and troubleshooting technical and MS issues
• Experience with the system installation configuration and analysis
• Through knowledge of networks and infrastructure
• Knowledge of data protection operations and system safety practices
• Proper understanding of the methodology of IT operations standards
• Experience with the gaming sector will be an added advantage
