Job summary

Assos law firm is currently seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of a Legal Assistant Intern.  The Legal Assistant Intern will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the law firm, including carrying out administrative services, providing support to the legal team and ensuring that the firm remains in compliance with country’s legal regulations.

Legal Assistant intern responsibilities

  • Complete administrative duties such as filing documents, making copies, answering phone calls, handling incoming and outgoing mails and greeting clients;
  • Maintain and update client database;
  • Handle communication with clients, witnesses and maintaining contact; communicating case progress;
  • Manage the firm’s website and social media platforms;
  • Monitor deadlines and coordinate calendars, schedule meetings and appointments, including all correspondence and logistics necessary;
  • Draft documents and letters for clients, prepare case briefs and summarize statements, interrogatories and testimonies;
  • Take notes at meetings, client interviews, and hearings ;
  • Assist with accounting ,billing, management of invoice and expenditures;
  • Conduct investigations and statistical/documentary research ;
  • Perform other administrative duties as they arise

Legal Assistant Intern skills and qualifications

  1. Law Degree or Diploma
  2. Computer literate in word processing, databases, email, and office software

iii.            Excellent written and oral communications skills

  1. Able to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision
  2. Must be based in Arusha
  3. Excellent research and organizational skills

vii.          Ability to maintain confidentiality is a MUST
