We are looking for a suitable operations manager for our Hostel, located in
Njiro. We are seeking someone who is experienced in Receptionist/Tourism
roles, is highly organised and self-efficient. We need someone who can be
reliable, responsible, speak good english and can manage a wide range of
tasks as they will be the primary person on the ground.
Role:
The operations manager is responsible for being second in charge to the
owner, and essentially oversees all business operations and daily tasks.
Primarily, the operations manager is responsible for ensuring all teams are
fulfilling their duties, the property is well maintained, accounting is
managed, and stocktake is always done.
Some of your tasks and responsibilities will include:
Managing Guest Check ins, Customer Service and the bar:
– Your primary day to day role will be working the front of house/bar
– Checking In and Out Guests
– Managing Reservations
– Responding to guest queries or complaints
– General Bar tending (not significant)
Stocktake and Float Accounting:
* Ensuring all teams have adequate stock and weekly stocktake is done
* To physically make purchases and buy the weekly stockists – delegate to
masawe or other
* Ensure the business float account card is kept secure
* Ensuring receipts are issued for all business purchases
* To enter all expenditure into the necessary accounting folder/files (Float
accounting)
Stock and accounting daily checklist:
* Every saturday/sunday. Collect stock sheets and make purchases in town
* Ensure all accounting is up to date and entered for every purchase (float
accounting folder)
* To communicate any big expenditure or updates with management
* Ensure the bar is fully stocked.
Team Management:
* To ensure all teams are fulfilling daily tasks and responsibilities
(observing work)
* To oversee front of house/the bar
* To ensure the bar is always stocked, organized, clean and daily tasks are
being fulfilled
* To communicate any issues or internal problems with management
General Duties:
* Communicating any daily tasks and activities with management
* Staying up to date on weekly arrivals, tours leaving and airport pick ups
(obtain a weekly report)
* Making the weekly bank deposits from the front of house/bar till.
* Fulfilling any general day to day tasks
