Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Organisational Effectiveness (OE) Specialist, we are looking for candidates that can be based in Durban, Cape Town, or Johannesburg and there will be a need for them to travel to our Operations across Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga from time to time. The successful candidate may also be required to work across different time zones on regional/global projects and they will report to the Organisational Effectiveness Manager (OE Manager).

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The OE Specialist is responsible for supporting and executing the design, improvement and optimizing of people processes and initiatives in the fields of Learning & Development, Organisational Development, Employment Equity and Governance.

The OE Practitioner will support the Head of Organisational Effectiveness in establishing and executing McCain SAF’s OE approach and will be responsible for the development of the necessary tools, processes and resources to ensure efficient execution. The incumbent will make use of their knowledge of learning and development, process optimization, employee wellness, organization design, performance management and organizational development interventions to unlock efficiencies aimed at achieving the organisation’s objectives.

The incumbent will also be responsible for monitoring compliance to business objectives in the L&D (Learning & Development) and EE (Employment Equity) space.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  1. Organisational Effectiveness   
  • Support the Head of OE in identifying specific interventions and strategies to achieve organizational goals.
  • Develop tools and metrics to support execution and monitoring of intervention.
  • Research and advise the business on best practice HR approaches aimed at reducing costs and increasing efficiencies.
  • Support the Head of OE in developing and executing the organisation’s change management approach.
  • Support and advise on the organisation’s leadership development approach.
  • Lead the annual Top Employer audit and guide HRBPs on initiatives to enhance performance in the audit.
  • Deliver training interventions aimed at enhancing HR best practices and compliance.
  • Support and advise on strategic workforce planning initiatives and organization design approach.
  1. Talent Management
  • Support the identification and implementation of McCain’s assessment approach.
  • Support the succession planning approach through identification of key methods for selecting talent and predicting future potential.
  • Provide input into the succession planning process and advise management on suitable candidates.
  • Support the development and implementation of the build/buy talent acquisition strategy.
  • Assist in the development of McCain’s onboarding approach with the aim of achieving a quick path to productivity.
  1. Learning & Development
  • Support the Head of OE in aligning L&D initiatives to business goals.
  • Assist with the development of tools and processes to accurately identify future skills requirements and develop/source training programmes to fill the skills gap.
  • Accurately compile and submit the Annual Training Report and Workplace Skills Plan as required by legislation.
  • Monitor the L&D budget and advise the Head of OE of any deviations.
  • Ensure alignment of training spend to BBBEE goals.
  • Ensure alignment of L&D initiates to SETA sector skills plans to maximise grant funding.
  • Support the Head of OE in implementation of the Learning Academy that will focus on Leadership Development, Agriculture Skills Development and Sales Skills Development.
  1. Governance, Compliance and Transformation
  • Develop tools and processes to ensure compliance to EE and broader transformation plans.
  • Implement processes to ensure compliance to relevant labour legislation.
  • Support the implementation of best practice standards in line with the King IV codes.
  • Identify and drive appropriate wellness initiatives and monitor its impact on absenteeism and productivity.
  1. System, processes and practices
  • Develop the necessary HR reports that drive objectives and enables decision making.
  • Monitor execution of initiatives derived from the information presented to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Review and amend the necessary HR procedure to ensure efficiencies are unlocked.
  • Review and optimize employee practices to enhance the employee experience.

Organisational Effectiveness Specialist Job Vacancy at McCain South Africa

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years’ experience in HR.
  • 3 years’ experience in Organisational Development.
  • 2 years’ experience in L&D and EE/BBBEE.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Matric .
  • NQF level 7 degree in I/O Psychology, HR or related field.
  • Skills Development Facilitator course (advantageous).

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Skills Development Facilitator.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

  1. Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • Good understanding of organizational development principles.
  • Working knowledge of legislation relevant to Employment Equity, Skills Development and BBBEE.

  • Change management expertise.
  • Project management experience.
