JOB TITLE: Production Manager 

JOB LOCATION: Dar Es Salaam 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

Education requirements 

1. Bachelor of Science in Operations Management, Industrial Management or related field. 2. Minimum 5 years’ experience as a production manager in textile/apparel industry. A sound knowledge of the production process, planning and organization skills. Sound knowledge of industry-specific factory equipment
2. Communication skills, time management, demand management, Analytical, Inventory  Management and Optimization.

Requirements: 

1. Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to coordinate production  activities effectively.
2. Proficiency in Excel and production data analysis for monitoring performance and costs. 3. Quick learner, adaptable to new systems and technologies, with strong problem-solving  and organizational abilities

Language and Computer Skills Fluent in English and Kiswahili, Proficient in all Microsoft Office  applications, ERP systems

SUMMARY 

The Production Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of  garment production. This includes supporting the development and refinement of product designs,  conducting comprehensive costing and feasibility analyses, and coordinating the creation of  samples through to full-scale production. The role also entails ensuring strict adherence to quality  control standards, optimizing production efficiency, and maintaining alignment with company  objectives.

In addition, the Production Manager will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and managing  the production and delivery schedules to ensure timely completion of orders. They will work closely  with cross-functional teams to uphold the company’s quality benchmarks, meet delivery  commitments, and achieve factory performance targets.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Planning:
2. Creating, maintaining, planning and organizing product schedules.
3. Assessing project and resource requirements
4. Working out the human and material resources needed
5. Drafting a timescale for the job
6. Monitoring the production process and adjusting schedules as needed

3. Developing and implementing innovative strategies to streamline factory  operations.
4. Overseeing production process
5. Making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality d. Driving and achieving factory Key performance indicators (KPI).
6. Analyzing production data to identify and resolve any production issues.
7. Quality
8. Determining quality control standards.
9. Collaborating with quality control to establish and execute quality control processes. Regularly inspecting finished products to determine whether they meet established  quality standards
10. Implementing continuous improvement processes
11. Cost
12. Ensuring production is cost effective
13. Continuously analyze factory overhead cost, ensure it is efficient
14. Improving labor production and reduce production cost per unit
15. Reducing waste in sample making, cutting, packaging, sewing and finishing levels
16. Manage assets
17. Responsible for selection of machines
18. Scheduling routine maintenance for all machines and equipment
19. Ensure operators receive proper training on how to operate machines for safe  machine usage.
20. Manage people
21. Screening, recruiting and training new factory workers
22. Motivating factory workers to continually achieve factory targets
23. Build a productive team and improve their skills by coaching and conducting  workshop and training as needed
24. Employee health and safety
25. Driving employee health and safety initiatives and awareness
26. Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met
27. Enforcing compliance with health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and  injuries
28. Any other duty that may be assigned by management
