Role Overview

Purpose: To support project activities that empower domestic workers (DWs) via vocational training, economic strengthening, and community mobilization.

Location Focus: Implementation at the community, ward, and district levels, with a specific liaison role for stakeholders in Dodoma.

Key Responsibilities
Field Coordination and Mobilization
-
Mobilize domestic workers and community members to participate in project activities and vocational training.

Facilitate the recruitment of DWs to join CHODAWU (Conservation, Hotels, Domestic and Allied Workers Union) branches.
-
Strengthen relationships with local authorities, employers, and community leaders to improve support for DWs.
Beneficiary Support and Empowerment

Monitor beneficiary progress, including training attendance and project activity milestones.

Provide coaching and follow-up for domestic workers receiving microcredit or revolving funds.

Facilitate group formations, savings groups, and awareness sessions on workers’ rights, financial literacy, and gender equality.

Support conflict resolution and mediation between domestic workers and their employers.
Reporting and Administration

Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly field reports.

Ensure accurate and timely data entry and record-keeping for all beneficiaries.

Support office administration, including file maintenance, financial resource management, and HR coordination (tracking attendance and onboarding).

Identify implementation challenges and propose practical solutions to supervisors.
Candidate Requirements
Education and Experience
-
Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Human Resource Management, Education, or a related field.

Added Advantage: A diploma or certificate in Project Management, Community Mobilization, or Gender Studies.

Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) principles and financial procedures.
Skills and Abilities

Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills to engage workers, leaders, and government officials.

Facilitation: Experience in leading workshops and peer-support meetings with diverse groups.

Digital Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems.

Personal Traits: High adaptability, resilience for field travel, and strong problem-solving skills.

Standards: The facilitator must uphold the highest safeguarding standards to prevent exploitation, abuse, or discrimination.

Confidentiality: Must exercise professional boundaries and maintain strict confidentiality in all engagements.
