The company controls the entire journey of the meat, from ethical livestock rearing on its own world-class ranches across East Africa, to advanced processing in its export-approved abattoir, and efficient distribution.
The company’s operations are supported by a comprehensive set of facilities and a robust logistics division. This includes over four large ranches (approximately 1,500 acres each) with dedicated feed lots and a full traceability system. Their advanced abattoir, Union Meat Abattoir, adheres to international standards with a capacity of 150 bulls and 2,000 small ruminants per shift, specializing in contract slaughtering and humane handling. Union Meat Group’s in-house logistics division manages the end-to-end cold chain, ensuring their chilled and frozen premium meat products reach customers worldwide in perfect condition.
Current Job Opening: Safety Officer
Union Meat Group is currently HIRING a Safety Officer to be based in Mlandizi Pwani.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting daily inspections and audits.
- Leading investigations and safety training.
- Enforcing PPE use and good housekeeping.
- Maintaining safety records and compliance.
- Driving continuous improvement in safety culture.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
- NEBOSH / OSHA / NOSA certification (or equivalent).
- 2–5 years’ experience in industrial or construction environments.
- Strong communication and leadership in safety practices.
