The Guardian Limited, publishers of leading Tanzanian newspapers The Guardian, Nipashe and Nipashe Jumapili, is looking for motivated and experienced professionals to fill the following position:

Position: Sales Executive

Job Purposes

Sales Executive is responsible for driving advertising revenue by selling ad space in our newspapers to businesses, agencies, and other potential clients. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with clients, developing advertising strategies, and achieving sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell advertising space in our newspapers to new and existing clients.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and advertising goals.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
  • Work with clients to create customized advertising solutions that align with their marketing objectives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and new business opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and contracts in the CRM system.

Other Responsibility

  • Develop and guide the team of freelancers.
  • Assist and supervise freelancers through post-mortem meetings.
  • Accompany freelancers on customer visits, analyze missed business opportunities, and create action plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of freelancers, providing feedback and support for improvement.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.


  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in advertising sales, preferably in the media or publishing industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales target
