Senior Manager; Mortgage Financing (1 Position)

Job Purpose

To lead and scale the bank’s mortgage financing portfolio by developing and executing strategies that drive sustainable growth, enhance customer acquisition, strengthen asset quality, and establish the bank as a market leader in mortgage products.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the bank’s mortgage financing strategy, policies, and annual business plans.
• Identify and capitalize on market opportunities to expand the mortgage portfolio and increase the bank’s market share.
• Support Head of department to design innovative mortgage products that address diverse customer needs (first-time buyers, property developers, HNWIs).
• Lead product development and refinement to ensure mortgage solutions remain competitive and relevant.
• Position the bank as a leader in the mortgage market through innovation, strong partnerships, and customer-first strategies.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with real estate developers, housing agencies, government schemes, and property agents.
• Champion digital solutions for mortgages to improve access, efficiency, and customer convenience.
• Drive cross-selling with other retail products (deposits, insurance, digital banking).
• Oversee end-to-end management of the mortgage book: acquisition, appraisal, disbursement, and recovery.
• Monitor portfolio quality and lead initiatives to reduce NPLs and PAR levels.
• Collaborate with internal teams (ICT, Operations, Risk) to continuously improve systems, processes, and credit controls.
• Lead, coach, and mentor the mortgage team, embedding a performance-driven culture.
• Support branch staff with training and guidance to drive mortgage sales and service delivery.
• Build a strong succession pipeline.
• Act as a subject matter expert and advisor on mortgage strategy to senior management.
• Ensure 100% compliance with regulatory and internal credit standards, policies, and audit requirements.
• Provide regular performance and risk reports to senior management and governance committees.
• Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct, ethics, and integrity.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in credit/asset financing with at least 2 years in mortgage finance leadership.
• Demonstrated success in growing loan portfolios and improving asset quality.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong understanding of mortgage and housing finance, real estate markets, and credit risk.
• Proficiency in MS Office, credit appraisal tools, portfolio management systems.
• Strategic leadership and ability to scale portfolios sustainably.
• Strong negotiation, business development, and partnership-building skills.
• Risk management and credit expertise.
• Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
