Our story
Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) aims be the preferred provider of accessible specialized health services in Africa and serves – as healthcare social enterprise and through development programmes – the community and the most vulnerable. Committed to preventing lifelong disabilities wherever possible, CCBRT is also engaged in extensive maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) activities including obstetric fistula repairs. Its Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a referral centre for high risk and emergency deliveries in the region of Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.
In our IT & Business Applications team we are able to provide an opportunity for dynamic graduated individuals to participate in software development projects to gain work experience.
The role
During your working exposure placement, you will:
- Participate in development of a new system that requires integration of other interrelated systems and program elements.
- Participate in the design, coding and debugging desktop, web-based software applications in the various software languages.
- Assist in organizing and perform unit and integrated testing, designing and utilizing test bases; assist users in acceptance testing.
- Participate in providing technical support on troubleshooting and resolving routine software application problems. You will install application systems software and hardware according to specifications and perform additional tests and examinations as required.
- Participate in evaluating and performing improvements to support user friendly interfaces and usability.
- Participate in gathering and validating of software development projects requirments from different stakeholders and develop the software applicaition for the business needs
- Provide training to the end users on new software application and customize the changes for the benefits of the stakeholders
Work exposure placements are an opportunity to gain experience for a period of 3 months with a possibility to extend to max 6 months. There is no financial compensation.
The candidate
- BSc/BEng in IT/IS/Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies
- Working knowledge of various software languages [PHP, Java, C/C++, .NET, Python, CSS, HTML]
- Good knowledge in operating systems administration preferably Linux, MS Server 2012 and above Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and writtern communication skills (bot English and Swahili) A pro-active attitude and eagerness to learn
