RESPONSIBILITIES  OF  STORE  KEEPER

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing auto parts inventory using a computerized inventory management system or manual logs.
  • Receive shipments of auto parts from suppliers, verify quantities and quality, and enter them into the inventory system.
  • Regularly conduct stock counts, inventory audits, and cycle counts to reconcile inventory discrepancies and ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Monitor inventory turnover rates, identify slow-moving or obsolete items, and take appropriate measures such as markdowns, promotions, or returns to optimize inventory levels.

Stock Replenishment:

  • Monitor inventory levels for popular or fast-moving auto parts and initiate replenishment orders as needed to prevent stockouts.
  • Collaborate with suppliers or procurement personnel to place orders for new stock, ensuring timely delivery and adequate supply to meet customer demand.
  • Utilize reorder points, minimum stock levels, and lead times to determine optimal reorder quantities and timing for auto parts replenishment.

Store Organization:

  • Maintain a well-organized and efficient store layout, including shelving, bin locations, and storage areas for different types of auto parts.
  • Label shelves and storage bins clearly to facilitate easy identification and retrieval of items during picking and packing processes.
  • Implement proper storage practices to ensure the safety and integrity of auto parts, including correct stacking, handling, and storage of fragile or heavy items.

Order Fulfillment:

  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently, picking auto parts from inventory, packing them securely, and preparing them for shipment or customer pickup.
  • Verify order accuracy against packing slips or invoices, ensuring that the correct items and quantities are included in each order.
  • Coordinate with delivery personnel or courier services to schedule timely deliveries or pickups of customer orders, providing them with necessary documentation and instructions.

Customer Service Support:

  • Assist customers with inquiries regarding product availability, pricing, and specifications, providing accurate and helpful information to meet their needs.
  • Process customer returns or exchanges according to company policies and procedures, inspecting returned items for damage or defects and restocking them appropriately.
  • Address customer complaints or concerns related to inventory, orders, or deliveries in a professional and courteous manner, seeking resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction.

Maintenance and Safety:

  • Perform regular maintenance tasks to keep the store and storage areas clean, organized, and free from hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures for handling, storing, and disposing of hazardous materials or equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections of store equipment, such as label printer, battery, and ladders, reporting any issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, order fulfillment metrics, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and analyze store operations.
  • Maintain documentation of receiving, shipping, and inventory transactions, including invoices, packing slips, and delivery receipts, for record-keeping and auditing purposes.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to management regarding inventory management issues, process improvements, and opportunities for cost savings or efficiency gains.
