We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Transport Officer to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing our school bus fleet and optimizing routes to deliver exceptional service to schools, parents, and students.

About the Role

As the Transport Officer, you will oversee the daily operations of our school bus fleet, ensuring compliance with Tanzanian transport regulations, optimizing routes for efficiency, and maintaining the highest safety standards. You will work closely with drivers, mechanics, school administrators, and parents to ensure seamless and reliable transportation services.

Key Responsibilities

• Fleet Operations: Supervise daily bus operations, monitor real-time fleet tracking, and handle emergencies.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure regular servicing, coordinate repairs, and conduct safety inspections.
• Route Optimization: Plan and optimize bus routes to minimize delays and fuel consumption.
• Driver Supervision: Recruit, train, and manage drivers to ensure compliance with safety policies.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary contact for schools and parents, addressing concerns and providing updates.
• Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate records, prepare performance reports, and ensure adherence to transport laws.

What We’re Looking For

• A Diploma/Degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in fleet management, route planning, or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian traffic laws, LATRA, and SUMATRA regulations.
• Proficiency in fleet management software, GPS tracking systems, and routing tools.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies effectively.

Work Environment

• Office-based in Upanga, Ilala, with frequent field visits to bus depots and routes.
• Early morning and late afternoon to oversee bus operations.
• Occasional evening or weekend availability for emergencies or school events.
