FABEC Investment Limited is the Sub Contractor for WASCO ISOAF TZ LTD in the EAST AFRICA CRUDE OIL Project (EACOP) contracted to build the coating plant in EACOP coating yard in Tabora region Nzega district, Igusule ward. The company is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the following positions:

Carpenters: (15 positions)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Assisting supervisors with structural design, planning, layout, and installation.
  • Conduct repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required.
  • Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials.
  • Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment.
  • Compliance with local building codes, and health and safety regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.

Requirements:

  • Certificate in any certified technical college
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or a minimum of A years’ experience as a journey-level carpenter.
  • Additional certification may be required.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination.
  • Knowledge of mathematics.

SITE ENGINEER: (1 position)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Managing all Site construction projects
  2. Overseeing site building work
  3. Undertaking surveys
  4. Setting out sites
  5. Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly
  6. Supervising contracted staff
  7. Ensuring project packages meet agreed specifications, budgets and/or timescales
  8. Liaising with clients, subcontractors and other professional staff, especially Quantity Surveyors and the overall Project Manager
  9. Providing technical advice and solving problems on site
  10. Preparing site reports and filling in other paperwork
  11. Liaising with quantity surveyors about the ordering and the pricing of materials
  12. Ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from any recognized Higher Learning Institution:
  • Graduate registered as Professional Engineer
  • Proven working experience in civil Engineering minimum 3 years.
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar
  • Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc ■ Project management and supervision skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Project experience as added advantage.
  • Attention to detail.

Civil Engineers: (3 Positions)

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner
  2. Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
  3. Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications
  4. Assess potential risks, materials and costs
  5. Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies
  6. Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders
  7. Handle over the resulting structures and services for use
  8. Monitor progress and compile reports in project status
  9. Manage budget and purchase equipment/materials
  10. Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and deliver technical files and othertechnical documentation as required

Minimum Qualifications: –

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directing the movement of vehicles on a work site

  • Providing clear, correct and safe directions to plant operators
  • Communicating with drivers and plant operators verbally and by radio and/or industry standard hand signals
  • Understanding risks(e.g. blind spots)and howto manage these effectively
  • Managing traffic to avoid excessive queuing
  • Minimizing possible risks to personnel and equipment.

Requirements:

QA/QC Engineers: (2 positions)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Accountable for the quality and workmanship of every activity, precise knowledge of all aspects of engineering construction relating to Civil, Architectural, and Structural discipline interfacing the multidisciplinary processes.
  2. Responsible for QA/QC documents of the complete project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports and site instruction/observations, permanent materials delivered, and other important QA/QC documents.
  3. Develop and determine all standards to perform inspection and tests on all procedures and oversee all testing methods and maintain high standards of quality for all processes.
  4. Review the quality of all materials at the site and ensure compliance with all project specifications and quality and collaborate with the department for all material procurement and maintain a quality of materials.
  5. Supervise the effective implementation of all test and inspection schedules and ensure adherence to all procedures and coordinate with various teams to perform quality audits on processes.
  6. Assist with employees to ensure knowledge of all quality standards and ensure compliance to all quality manuals and procedures and collaborate with contractors and suppliers to maintain the quality of all systems.
  7. Manage to lift all types of equipment and handle the efficient storage of all hazardous materials and perform quality audits as perthe required schedule.
  8. Analyze all products and non-conformance processes and evaluate all documents to ensure the maintenance of optimal quality and prepare monthly reports to evaluate performance.
  9. Monitor an efficient system and record for all project activities and analyze all processes to ensure all work according to quality requirements.
  10. Manage all work methods and maintain knowledge on all quality assurance standards and monitor continuous application for all quality assurance processes and recommend corrective actions for all processes.
  11. Develop a method statement for the activity including risk assessment and job safety environmental analysis and Inspection Test Plan and Checklist based on specifications of the project.
  12. Liaise the Technical Engineer for submission of material submittals to Consultant
  13. Coordinate with the consultant’s representative and Site In-charge for inspection.

  • Laying out steel bars, mesh, rods, and framework.
  • Hoisting steel bars, mesh, and reinforcements into place.
  • Fitting spacers and supports.
  • Joining steel reinforcement bars (rebar), footings, and girders by welding or with clips or wires.
  • Fixing steel bars and mesh to solid concrete bases.
  • Using rebar to build casts that will keep setting concrete in place.
  • Preparing concrete, mixing sand, cement, and water, and pouring the concrete into the prepared casts.

Steel Fixer Requirements:

  • A completed apprenticeship in steel fixing.
  • A completed “Work Safely at Heights” short course.
  • VETA certification in steel fixing may be advantageous.
  • 5 years’ work experience in construction may be advantageous.
  • A good understanding of health and safety issues.
  • The ability to read and follow technical plans and drawings.
  • The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • A head for heights.
  • Good physical fitness.

ELECTRICAL TECHNICIANS: (3 POSITIONS)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assembling, evaluating, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
  • Constructing and fabricating parts, using hand tools and specifications.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Advising management on continued use of unsuitable equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
  • Supervising electricians.
  • Ordering of electrical supplies and equipment.

Requirements:

  • At least diploma in electrical, technical, or related degree.
  • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship.
  • At least 5 years’ experience as an electrical technician.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault-testing equipment.
