Job Description

The role holder will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining the existing information systems as well as new business application products. The role entails managing the entire process of building applications, from the design process, to creating, testing and production roll out

The developer shall also ensure that the different software developed conforms to the software development standards by conducting rigorous diagnosis, tests, code debugging, and documenting reference manuals.

Roles & Responsibilities

ØRequirements Elicitation, Review and Collaboration; working with the Business Analysts, Business teams or User Departments ensuring that the business requirements are complete, precise, documented, and testable

ØDevelop and Design recommended Systems Specification Design, Transaction flows or Architectural flows for New Solutions working together with the Systems Architect and Application Security Specialist ensuring fit with existing solutions eco-systems and non-functional or Security requirements.

ØSpecify and ensure that Applications Controls are Incorporated at Design level of Solutions.

ØPerform technical analysis, design and documentation required for new changes and Projects.

ØInteract with vendors and other strategic business partners to understand and recommend data interchange formats, APIs, and messaging formats to achieve seamless integration.

ØDesign integrated solutions, which may include applications, databases, and related systems in conformance to the approved Systems Specifications Document and architectural designs.

ØPrepare system documentation including user manuals and Administrator Manuals for New Systems Developed or Implemented.

ØPrepare and execute test cases including debugging of subsystems and components in Test and Production environments.

ØDevelop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming and documentation. Testing includes defining/supporting acceptance testing and gathering feedback from pre-release testers.

ØProvide Level 3 Service desk Support (Expert Support) to Internally developed Solutions or Integrated Solutions in their purview.

Skills, Qualifications & Personal Attributes

• Over 4 years’ proven experience in software development, with hands-on expertise in full-stack application design, development, and implementation across web and mobile platforms.
• Proficient in multiple programming languages and frameworks including Java, Python, PHP, C++, Spring, Hibernate, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and RESTful web services.
• Strong experience in relational database development using Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL within data-driven application architectures.
• Skilled in working across diverse environments (Windows, Linux, UNIX) and administering applications, databases, and web servers.
• Knowledgeable in Agile (Scrum) and other SDLC methodologies, with solid experience using development tools such as Eclipse, Maven, and Subversion.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and simplify technical concepts for varied audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, with a strong interest in emerging technologies, especially in fintech and banking software solutions.
