Tax Manager: Duties & Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities for the Tax Manager position include:

  • Managing and overseeing direct tax compliance, planning, and reporting.
  • Leading tax audits, assessments, and client representations before tax authorities.
  • Supervising and reviewing audit engagements and financial statements.
  • Ensuring compliance with tax laws, auditing standards, and accounting policies.
  • Overseeing and advising on transfer pricing policies and documentation.
  • Providing integrated solutions across taxation, audit, and accounting functions.
  • Mentoring and developing junior team members to build technical expertise.
  • Maintaining and strengthening client relationships with timely advisory support.
  • Collaborating with management on strategic initiatives and business development.
  • Driving process improvements to enhance service quality and efficiency.

Tax Manager: Skills & Requirements

To be considered for the Tax Manager position, candidates should have the following skills and qualifications:

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications like CPA, CA, or ACCA are preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of proven experience in taxation and tax compliance is required.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of local and international tax laws and regulations is essential. Candidates should also have an in-depth knowledge of the formation of Transfer Pricing Policy.
  • Skills: The position requires excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Candidates must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and team members.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines is also necessary. Proficiency in tax and accounting software is considered an added advantage.
