RE: JOB VACANCIES ON CONTRACT
The Medical Officer in Charge of Bukoba Regional Referral Hospital invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for the following contract job vacancies:
1. ICT OFFICER – 2 POSITIONS
- Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in ICT from a government-recognized institution and at least one year of experience in Data Entry.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- To quickly and accurately enter clinical, laboratory, and other form data into the database.
- To analyze and organize data in a numerical or date-based sequence.
- To communicate with the supervisor regarding problematic forms.
- To communicate with the supervisor regarding database issues.
- To perform reconciliation between different databases.
- To provide advice on how to improve data and its storage.
- To handle technical issues when necessary.
- To perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor that are related to their education, experience, and skills.
2. HEALTH RECORDS ASSISTANT – 6 POSITIONS
- Qualifications: Must have a Form Four education and a Diploma in Health Records Management from a government-recognized institution.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- To receive and register patients in the reception books.
- To open patient files.
- To maintain patient files and related records.
- To collect, store, analyze, and interpret health and related information.
- To prepare and enter hospital health reports into the information system.
- To verify and monitor the quality of patient data.
- To prepare all necessary health reports for the hospital, ministry, etc., and submit them to the Medical Officer in Charge.
- To supervise the work of subordinates.
- To perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor that are related to their education, experience, and skills.
3. ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER II – 4 POSITIONS
- Qualifications: Must have a Form Four education and a Diploma in Nursing from a government-recognized institution. Must be registered with the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council and have a valid license.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- To provide nursing services.
- To collect important health data.
- To guide the nurses under their supervision.
- To educate patients and the community about their health problems.
- To provide preventive and maternal health services.
- To perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor that are related to their education, experience, and skills.
4. RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN GRADE II – 4 POSITIONS
- Qualifications: Must have a Form Four certificate, a Diploma in Radiology Technology from a government-recognized institution, and be registered with the relevant council.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- To examine patients who are directed to their work area.
- To maintain radiology machines and equipment in their work area.
- To inspect X-Ray images for quality and sufficiency (Diagnostic quality).
- To maintain patient images until the results reach the referring doctors.
- To supervise subordinates.
- To provide advice on radiology and radiation matters in their work area.
- To prepare medical/diagnostic equipment and oversee their sterilization in their work area.
- To provide initial training to new employees assigned to their work area.
- To perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor that are related to their education, experience, and skills.
5. HEALTH ASSISTANT – 5 POSITIONS
- Qualifications: Must have a Form Four education and a Certificate in their field from a government-recognized institution.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- To clean work equipment, wards, and the surrounding environment.
- To assist disabled and incapacitated patients with hygiene (defecation, urination, and bathing).
- To help feed incapacitated patients.
- To take patient clothes for washing.
- To take patient samples for laboratory tests and follow up on the results.
- To prepare equipment for cleaning and bandaging wounds.
- To follow up on patient medication needs from the drug store.
- To perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
6. COOK II – 1 POSITION
- Qualifications: Must have a Form Four certificate and have completed training in cooking from a government-recognized institution.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- To prepare food according to the needs of the patients.
- To inform the supervisor if there is a food shortage or an increase in the number of people requiring food so that the issue can be handled quickly.
- To maintain all cooking utensils.
- To clean the kitchen and cooking utensils.
- To perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor that are related to their education, experience, and skills.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- The employment will be on a one-year contract.
- After the contract period ends, an employee who has demonstrated work efficiency will have their contract renewed.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS:
- Must be a Tanzanian citizen
- Must not have a criminal record
- Must not have been dismissed or reduced from government service.
- Must be between 18 and 45 years old.
- All application letters must be attached with copies of birth certificates, national ID, education and skill certificates, a CV with two referees, a valid professional license, and one color passport-size photo.
