Our client, a fast-growing Food & Beverage company based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Merchandiser to ensure that products are displayed effectively and attractively, encouraging customers enjoy an exceptional shopping experience. The Merchandiser will play a key role in maximizing sales through strategic product placement, stock monitoring, and maintaining strong relationships with store managers and staff. The ideal candidate will have a background in merchandising or retail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for visual and brand identity.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, coordinate, and execute product displays across supermarkets, retail stores, and key accounts.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment to avoid shortages or overstock.
- Collect market intelligence on competitor products, promotions, and pricing.
- Work closely with sales and marketing teams to implement promotional campaigns.
- Train and support retail staff on product knowledge and display standards.
- Prepare weekly reports on merchandising performance and sales impact.
- Ensure compliance with brand guidelines and maintain excellent in-store visibility.
- Generate regular orders from Key Customers and ensure paid Gondola’s are stocked as per product planogram.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred).
- Previous experience in merchandising, sales, or retail (FMCG/F&B sector is an advantage).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple store visits.
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of stock management tools is an added advantage.
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about maximizing product performance.
