Position Overview
The Operator 2 – Equipment will operate the Milling Circuit in compliance with GGM Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations to meet production targets. The role requires strict adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) standards and the GGM Code of Conduct.

Reports to: Senior Supervisor – Mill/Treatment

Qualifications
- Ordinary Level secondary education or higher.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a process plant environment.
- Background in crushing, milling, or processing preferred.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot milling problems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety, Health, and Environment
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area.
- Identify and report safety hazards.
- Follow PPE requirements and permit-to-work procedures.
- Comply with all site safety standards.
2. Milling Operations
- Operate and monitor SAG & Ball Mills, ensuring optimal load and speed.
- Inspect for leaks, abnormal sounds, or vibrations.
- Control hopper levels, discharge pumps, and spillage.
- Monitor and record mill discharge densities.
3. Equipment Maintenance
- Inspect gearboxes, lubrication systems, and discharge pumps.
- Handle oil spills per GGM safety procedures.
- Ensure spillage and sump pumps operate effectively.
4. Water Management
- Maintain water pond levels and prevent overflows.
- Inspect process and raw water pumps regularly.
5. Reporting & Documentation
- Complete shift logs, inspection sheets, and job cards accurately.
- Report operational issues to the Control Room or Shift Supervisor.
- Execute planned tasks per the weekly work schedule.
