Job Purpose

To support and develop interfaces for Core Banking Systems, and handle Level 2 incident resolution for back-end core banking applications. The role will also involve supporting End of Day (EOD) operations and coordinating Level 3 issues with offshore teams to ensure proactive and effective system performance.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop web interfaces (APIs) enabling integration between applications and the core banking system.
• Coordinate project groups and manage business demands to ensure solutions align with the bank’s priorities.
• Provide Level 2 support for all core applications and act as DevOps support for internally developed systems.
• Participate in all software development lifecycle phases related to the core banking system.
• Support day-to-day operations and monitor performance of the Core Banking System (CBS).
• Automate back-office operations by integrating third-party systems through the CBS.
• Provide 2nd-level technical support for CBS incidents and queries (live, data warehousing, UAT, and reports).
• Liaise with CBS Level 2/3 support teams to report and resolve incidents both onsite and offsite.
• Manage external vendors to ensure development and support align with project and contractual requirements.
• Provide expert advice on core banking systems and contribute to departmental objectives.
• Conduct and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for CBS-related changes.

Knowledge and Skills

• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Proficiency in computer programming and Linux systems administration.
• Experience in creating and supporting scalable enterprise applications.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems and hardware, preferably Unix/Linux or Solaris.
• Competence in SQL and RDBMS databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL, Oracle).
• Awareness of emerging technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML).
• Programming skills in Java, Python, and PL/SQL.
• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering.
• Certifications in Linux/UNIX or Database Management will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development, DevOps support, or core banking system administration.
• Proven experience working with IT infrastructure, architecture, and risk system specialists.
• Hands-on experience in technical management of core banking systems.
