Job Purpose

To provide expert-level maintenance, repair, and diagnostic support for all High Voltage (HV) Electrical infrastructure and reticulation in the underground operation — ensuring maximum reliability, compliance with safety standards, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Trade Test Level Three / Grade One in Electrical and Installation, or FTC in Electrical.
• High Voltage (HV) Training Certificate.
• Valid Tanzania Driving License (Class D or above).

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working on underground electrical equipment.
• Demonstrated expertise in High Voltage Switching operations.
• Prior experience maintaining and repairing HV electrical systems in a mining or heavy industrial environment.

Additional Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
• Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical faults.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and circuit diagrams.
• Skilled in electrical wiring, repair, and installation.
• High level of manual precision and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.

Key Accountabilities

• Coordinate all underground electrical maintenance activities to ensure high equipment reliability.
• Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards while applying best fitment and installation practices.
• Support planning and execution of underground electrical infrastructure projects across GGML operations.
• Ensure maintenance schedules are followed, emerging work is managed effectively, and equipment uptime is optimized.
• Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to improve team competency levels.
• Participate in maintenance and planning meetings, providing updates on HV electrical operations and performance.
• Raise maintenance work requests and manage electrical backlog schedules.
• Identify and mitigate HV reticulation risks through early communication and intervention.
• Inspect all HV works to ensure compliance with engineering design specifications and regulatory standards.
