Job Purpose

To lead the strategic management, development, and execution of NMB Bank’s brand, media, promotions, and advertising initiatives. The role ensures consistent brand positioning, strong media presence, and impactful marketing communications that support business growth and reinforce the bank’s market leadership.


Main Responsibilities

1. Brand Strategy & Management

  • Drive brand visibility, strengthen customer perception, and ensure alignment of all marketing communications with NMB’s values, products, and strategic goals.
  • Safeguard brand equity and optimize media investment across all communication initiatives.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and periodic review of the bank’s brand strategy.
  • Ensure consistent application of the NMB master brand and sub-brands across all touchpoints.
  • Manage and monitor brand performance through brand health tracking, customer insights, and valuation studies.
  • Support cross-functional teams to embed brand principles into product development, customer experience, and internal culture.

2. Media Strategy, Planning & Optimization

  • Support development and execution of annual media strategy across ATL, BTL, digital, and sponsorship channels.
  • Provide strategic brand-aligned guidance to strengthen positioning and campaign effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on media planning, buying, and reporting.
  • Manage agency relationships for quality delivery, innovation, and compliance.
  • Evaluate campaign performance and media effectiveness using data-driven insights.
  • Provide oversight for media planning and optimization.

3. Promotions & Campaign Management

  • Oversee planning and execution of promotional and tactical campaigns to enhance engagement and support business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal approval processes.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to develop campaign calendars aligned with business priorities.

4. Advertising & Creative Oversight

  • Provide strategic direction in developing advertising campaigns from briefing to execution.
  • Ensure advertising messages are compelling, consistent with brand positioning, and aligned with the bank’s values.
  • Oversee creative and production agencies to ensure quality, timeliness, and brand integrity.
  • Evaluate advertising effectiveness and recommend improvements.

5. Planning, Budgeting & Reporting

  • Contribute to the annual marketing and communications plan.
  • Support budget management across brand, media, and promotional activities to ensure efficient resource use and ROI tracking.
  • Prepare periodic reports and dashboards on campaign performance, brand health, and media effectiveness in partnership with research partners.
  • Prepare technical reports such as brand valuation and brand health studies in collaboration with specialized agencies.

6. Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of brand, media, and promotions professionals.
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure marketing initiatives drive commercial outcomes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with agencies, media houses, regulators, and partners.
  • Champion brand governance across the bank and ensure adherence to communication standards.
  • Oversee the bank’s website to ensure value generation and strong brand presence.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of banking products, financial services, and customer segments.
  • Proficiency in brand management, advertising, and media planning (traditional and digital).
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and ethical marketing standards in financial services.
  • Strategic, creative, and analytical thinker with strong commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • Deep knowledge of brand architecture, identity systems, and positioning.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite).
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and multiple projects.
  • Evidence of successful brand growth and campaign performance in previous roles.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Professional marketing certification (CIM, AMA, etc.) is an added advantage.
  • Master’s degree (MBA or MA in Marketing/Brand Management) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Marketing, Brand Management, or Communications, preferably in banking or financial services.
  • Experience in managing large-scale brand campaigns and multi-channel marketing initiatives.
  • Experience in agency management and budget oversight.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with financial advertising and regulatory standards.
  • Proven ability to optimize ROMI through data-driven decision-making.
  • Demonstrated track record in measuring and reporting on brand equity and marketing ROI.
